SAN FRANCISCO – Oct. 15, 2024 – IGEL, which provides the secure endpoint OS for now and next, today announced the launch of IGEL Asia, a new partnership with Channels Xchange Alliance (CXA), which will serve as IGEL’s master distributor for Asia. IGEL Asia will address the unique demands of organizations in the Asian market and expand IGEL’s presence across the region – where nearly 60% of the world’s population resides, the digital workspace market is experiencing rapid growth and demand for secure endpoint solutions is exploding.

Customers in Asia will benefit from tailored support, access to IGEL’s Preventative Security Model™ and the ability to optimize their digital workspaces while achieving improved security, lower total cost of ownership and greater sustainability. IGEL Asia will also enhance the experience of IGEL’s extensive Partner Ready Program members by providing increased opportunities to collaborate, broader market access, and support and resources for local ISVs (Internet Service Providers).

“IGEL Asia marks an important step in our global growth strategy to transform endpoint management and security across healthcare, government, financial services, retail and manufacturing,” said IGEL CEO Klaus Oestermann. “By partnering with CXA in each local market in Asia, we are enabling businesses to benefit from the  ‘Simply IGEL it’ method to achieve a whole new level security/ransomware protection, TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) reduction and sustainability.”

The IGEL Asia launch aligns with CXA’s commitment to transform endpoint TCO and security, which is especially critical at this moment as businesses in Asia have growing concerns about budgets to refresh old hardware, the rising threat of ransomware attacks and endpoint vulnerabilities affecting Windows endpoints – particularly now that Windows 10 is nearing end of life. CXA has made significant investments to establish a strong presence in Asia – securing strategic partnerships with IGEL Asia and actively building a strong vendor ecosystem with partners like Citrix, HP and Lenovo to deliver efficient solutions targeting virtual desktops, secure zero thin clients, business continuity and frontier use cases like digital signage and secure OT/IoT (Operation Technology / Internet of Things).

“CXA’s well-established presence and deep expertise in Asia position IGEL to reach more customers in new countries as we accelerate our growth across the region,” said Oestermann.

IGEL Asia, whose headquarters will reside within CXA’s new Singapore sales office, is expanding on that with a distributor and reseller recruitment campaign and various new hires. IGEL Asia brought on Malaysia-based Simon Ng, who has extensive channel growth experience, to lead business development. IGEL Asia is also hiring other business development professionals as well as building on its sales, operations, engineering and customer support teams to strengthen its expertise in delivering IGEL’s Preventative Security Model™ and ensuring that businesses can securely manage their endpoints with minimal cost and reduce their attack surfaces by 95%.

“With IGEL Asia, we are poised to lead the market by offering solutions that address the challenges of today’s endpoint management, providing cutting-edge digital workspace security and sustainability. Our holistic partner approach enables IGEL solutions to reach far and wide within Asia, providing unparalleled protection in today’s ever-evolving threat landscape,” said Alex Toh, Managing Director for IGEL Asia.

SAN FRANCISCO – February 7, 2024IGEL, provider of the secure endpoint OS for now and next, today announced a new Managed Services Provider (MSP) partner program and MSP service models for the IGEL platform which enables secure access for VDI, DaaS, SaaS and secure browsing use cases. Designed to be easy, flexible and cost effective for MSPs looking to deliver secure managed endpoints with unprecedented simplicity, the new IGEL MSP partner program features both multi-tenant and single-tenant deployment options to serve varying customer requirements.

According to data from Markets and Markets, “the managed services market size is expected to grow from USD $275.5 billion in 2023 to USD $372.6 billion by 2028… cloud computing, cybersecurity, data management and remote work solutions are expected to dominate the market as organizations seek scalable and secure services.”[1] Meeting this need, IGEL is releasing MSP-optimized licensing for the IGEL platform, including the secure IGEL OS and IGEL Universal Management Suite (UMS), so that MSPs may enhance their digital workspace stack with a modern, secure and cost-effective endpoint service that scales with their business.

“Today’s MSPs need access to the flexible endpoint solutions that not only secure devices, but also simplify endpoint management and control without adding complexity or increasing staff resource requirements,” said Mads Skalbo, Vice President of Global MSP Business, IGEL. “IGEL is serving these MSPs with dedicated technology, consumption models and support to enhance their suite of endpoint services. This will enable MSPs to capture market share in this fast-growing managed service category with the only endpoint OS that delivers a Preventative Security Model™ to support the Zero Trust and SASE initiatives that eliminate endpoint vulnerabilities.”

The new IGEL MSP partner program is a special designation offered to participating MSPs under the IGEL Velocity Partner Program. With a pay-as-you-grow licensing model and multi-tenant and single-tenant service models, IGEL is enabling MSPs to design and deliver the services and solutions that are in highest demand from their customers. This is particularly valuable for MSPs accelerating the adoption of their DaaS service offerings and for vertically focused MSPs that deliver unique solutions for industry segments from regional banking to dentists and pharmacies.  Featuring simplified onboarding and automated usage reporting, the IGEL MSP partner program supports deployment on-prem or in the cloud and is ideal for MSPs that want to deliver managed DaaS, VDI and SaaS solutions using a proven solution which dramatically reduces endpoint cost of ownership.

“When delivering managed Desktop as a Service (DaaS), we know that security and end user experience are paramount,” said Trevor Mansell, Managing Partner and VP of Managed Services, XenTegra. “We strive to be both cutting-edge, and user friendly, and with the launch of the IGEL MSP Program we are able to optimize delivery of secure managed endpoints for all customers, regardless of size.”

IGEL OS is a secure Linux-based operating system that features the advanced IGEL Preventative Security Model™ which has been designed to support the Zero Trust and SASE initiatives that eliminate endpoint vulnerabilities targeted by bad actors. Ideal for VDI, DaaS, SaaS and secure browsing use cases, IGEL OS-powered devices deliver a first-class user experience while being seamless to manage. Learn more at www.igel.com/igelos.

SAN FRANCISCO – January 4, 2024IGEL, provider of the secure endpoint OS for now and next, today announced its new brand and a game-changing approach to secure enterprises with the endpoint operating system (OS) that is redefining endpoint security. At the center of the company’s new vision is the IGEL Preventative Security Model™ which has been designed to support the Zero Trust and SASE initiatives that eliminate endpoint vulnerabilities targeted by bad actors. This new company vision and endpoint security model will be central themes at the annual IGEL DISRUPT End User Computing (EUC) Forum, IGEL DISRUPT 24, to be held April 29 through May 1, 2024, in Miami.

“The cloud-first approach taken by many organizations has resulted in a shift of endpoint workloads away from the endpoint, and into VDI, DaaS or SaaS infrastructure often accessed through secure browsers,” said Klaus Oestermann, CEO, IGEL. “This shift presents a unique opportunity to reassess the enterprise endpoint. Through IGEL’s Preventative Security Model, IGEL OS reduces the endpoint attack surface by 95%, dramatically reduces endpoint purchasing and operational costs, and helps organizations meet sustainability and Zero Trust goals. IGEL OS is the most secure and efficient endpoint OS for enterprises across all major vertical industries, including healthcare, finance, retail, manufacturing and government.”

Redefining Endpoint Security

To signify its role in the revolution of the enterprise endpoint OS, IGEL has launched a new brand and logo. The redesigned logo, which features emanating endpoint “sparks,” signifies IGEL’s foundational Preventative Security Model which sets it apart as the secure endpoint OS for today’s enterprise. The IGEL Preventative Security Model supports Zero Trust and SASE initiatives in five key ways:

  1. Read-only OS. The secure Linux-based OS means users cannot unwittingly, or maliciously, install malware to the endpoint reducing the risk of successful phishing, ransomware and other cyberattacks.
  2. No local storage of data. No customer, patient, financial or other information can be downloaded to the endpoint or exfiltrated through attached USB devices. This ensures lost or stolen devices do not create a breach investigation, or that malicious internal users are not able to surreptitiously steal data.
  3. Trusted application platform. A secure boot process ensures no code has been tampered with. A reboot returns the device to a known good state enabling organizations to confidently restore services in minutes rather than weeks or months from a cyber-attack
  4. Authentication, SSO integration and SASE. IGEL partners with the leading authentication vendors including Microsoft, Imprivata, Okta, Ping Identity, VMware and Citrix to integrate with broader standards. IGEL also partners with SASE and Secure Service Edge partners to optimize Zero Trust implementations.
  5. Modular design. At just 2GB, IGEL OS has a much smaller attack surface than a traditional endpoint OS. IGEL OS 12 only contains what the user needs to accomplish their tasks. Additional functionality such as partner integrations with Citrix and VMware, security vendors and more, can be downloaded from the IGEL App Portal.

Optimized for Vertical Implementation

IGEL OS is uniquely agile for flexible workflow and governance support across key vertical industries. Working closely with key IGEL Ready partners, IGEL OS is at the core of industry-specific solutions that meet the defined needs of healthcare, finance, retail, manufacturing and government customers. This has resulted in major industry adoption where IGEL OS is used by…

  • Leading healthcare and life science organizations including all the top five hospital groups in Europe, five of the top 10 biggest healthcare providers in the U.S. and five of the top 10 leading pharmaceutical manufacturers.
  • Major financial services brands including three of the top 10 banks in Europe.
  • Prominent retailers including five of the top 10 retailers in North America.
  • Leading manufacturers including all the top 10 manufacturers in Europe and four of the top 10 manufacturers in North America.
  • Global government agencies including hundreds of federal, defense and state and local government agencies around the world.

Lowering Endpoint Costs and Reducing Carbon Footprint

IGEL OS also significantly reduces the total cost of endpoint computing while reducing power consumption and extending device lifecycles to reduce carbon footprint by 60%. IGEL OS enables IT to remove superfluous endpoint security and management agents while also enabling the purchase and use of devices with less powerful processors to enhance overall sustainability. Using IGEL OS can also extend the lifecycle of endpoints from a typical three-to-five years to up to eight years, for significant total cost of ownership reduction.

Save the Date for IGEL DISRUPT 24

IGEL will be featuring the value of using a Preventative Security Model during its annual End User Computing event, IGEL DISRUPT 24, where EUC and security industry leaders and visionaries converge to share best practices, insights and new technology trends. To be held in Miami, from April 29 to May 1, 2024, IGEL DISRUPT 24 is expected to be the largest EUC industry event ever. “Furthering the IGEL growth and expansion mission, I am pleased to welcome Mads and Eric to our seasoned sales leadership organization,” said Klaus Oestermann, CEO, IGEL. “Each have unique and proven skills that will continue to amplify our market penetration across key regions in Europe and with the high-growth MSP market category. Their proven track records and expansive contacts will be exceptionally valuable as we accelerate adoption of IGEL OS, worldwide.”

Mads Skalbo joins IGEL following more than a decade of experience with Citrix where he most recently served as Senior Director, Citrix Service Providers, EMEA leading the adoption of Citrix across the European service provider landscape. This is a central part of our strategy to accelerate adoption of IGEL OS in the mid-market.”

Eric Kline is an experienced sales executive with more than two decades of successive experience at Citrix where he was most recently Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for EMEA. “The new era of hybrid work requires that IT support its employees with the most secure digital workspace to empower productive work,” said Kline. “IGEL delivers the enterprise-class endpoint platform today’s business need to empower users while supporting the security and cost-efficiency today’s businesses need.
